Do you have to be Irish to Irish dance?
No, all that is needed is an interest to learn. We welcome children of all ages and
backgrounds to come learn the joys of Irish dancing.


What is T.C.R.G. certification?
T.C.R.G. certification stands for "Teasgicoir Choimisiuin Le Rinci Gaelacha". Translation is Gaelic
 Commission Dancing Teacher and it entitles an Irish dance instructor's students to dance at a
competitive level. Students at a dance school with no T.C.R.G. certified instructors are not allowed
to compete in competitions.


What age can my child start classes?
We accept students ages 4 and up.


When will my child be able to compete/perform?
Students are allowed to begin competing and performing after their Beginner Debut. In order to
compete or perform students must purchase the Rince Nia Academy school costume.


What is a feis?
A feis is an Irish dance competition where students may compete against other Irish dancers. Feisenna (plural of feis) are held throughout the year in various locations and enables a dancer to progress in
their dancing ability and class level.
